The four-car trainset was delivered from the plant in Beasain, Spain, to Nässjö, Sweden. Before its launch in 2026, it is to have a trial run of at least 20,000 km on the national network.
UK: The passenger operator Arriva Group and the manufacturer have signed a contract for the delivery of nine five-car trainsets with 10 years of maintenance service.
Japan: The operator has published renderings of the exterior and interior of the 90000 series EMUs.
Germany: The approval was granted by the Federal Railway Authority EBA after a delay caused by changes in the country’s technical regulation. Trial runs and personnel training will begin in the near future.
Switzerland: One of the three-car narrow-gauge Orion EMUs has been fitted with the v+ technology and tested on the 3.7 km Andermatt–Göschenen section with gradients of up to 181‰.
France: “The failure rate for Alstom's RER New Generation trainsets remains well above target”, said Transilien SNCF Voyageurs. The Île-de-France operator has publicly accused the French train builder of “poor manufacturing quality”.
India: The 16-car train, released at the end of 2024 by the ICF plant of the national operator Indian Railways, has completed all the necessary tests.
Germany: The first trains between Berlin and Amsterdam are to be put into service in mid-2026.
Switzerland: The two-car Saphir II was delivered to Aargau Verkehr’s depot in Schöftland from the plant in Bussnang.
