Russia: Valeria Sharafutdinova, Deputy CEO at TMH Passenger Transport, commented on this to RIA Novosti.

These are her words, “The new platform continues the approach we already use in our serial products. They are all modular. They are like pieces of a constructor kit that our customers can assemble according to their tasks and wishes”.

The new platform can be used in single and double-deck trains for interregional, regional, and urban services. Double-deck trains will have sleeping berths. Trainsets made up of coaches of the future platform can be composed of different numbers of coaches, even two or three for routes with low passenger traffic. The type of traction can also be different. The manufacturer even plans to offer hybrid solutions for lines with electrified and non-electrified sections, as well as a hydrogen version.

In his presentation at the PRO//Motion.Expo salon in August, Dmitry Pegov, Deputy CEO and Head of the Traction Directorate at Russian Railways, said that TMH plans to develop a double-deck push-pull train and a long-distance EMU by 2027. The EP4A and EP5A electric train models are also under development.
