Russia: On 26 April, first passengers took on their journey on board the upgraded train, now consisting of 19 new and overhauled coaches in a renewed livery.
According to Russian Railways, the design of the coaches is dedicated to the regions the train passes through.
In its turn, TMH has announced that seven coaches for the cruise train were produced at their plant in Tver, among them six second-class couchette coaches and one staff carriage. The latter is equipped with a compartment for passengers with reduced mobility, including a special toilet with a shower and a wheelchair lift.
As reported by 1520today, the remaining first-class couchette coaches and luxury class coaches are not new, but refurbished. Besides, the cruise train now includes a spa carriage with a bar, rest rooms, shower cabins, and infrared saunas, and a separate shower carriage, both produced by the Tambov railway car repair plant, Vagonremmash.
