Russia: RBC Rostov has been informed by representatives of the plant that the target figure for this year is 210 electric locomotives.
In 2023, the company delivered 183 locomotives comprising 508 sections. These included both standard locomotives and special locomotives for use on industrial rail lines.
Based on the announced figures, the plant’s output is approaching its utilisation limit. In April, in an interview with the corporate magazine, TMH General Director Kirill Lipa stated that investments in the Novocherkassk-based plant will allow for a significant expansion of capacity, from 550 to 750 sections.
The plant has earlier announced the production of the third catenary and battery locomotive, the EMKA2, which has been approved for serial production in March. The first two locomotives are scheduled for delivery to Moscow, where they will be operated at the Russian Railways depot for a period of four months.
