USA: The state-owned passenger operator announced in February that it would begin procuring a standardised single-deck long-distance fleet. The RFP has now been issued formally, with a supplier to be selected by the end of 2027.
Brazil: In late March, two five-car driverless trains entered service on the first section of Line 17 in São Paulo.
Georgia: Prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze presented the plans at a government session on 8 April. According to him, Georgian Railway intends to acquire 50 locomotives, 1,500 wagons and 10 passenger trains.
