France: The manufacturer has unveiled a double-deck train for the private operator Transdev. The contract for the supply of 16 trains and their maintenance over 10 years, worth €250 mln, was signed in 2021.

The Omneo Premium is designed for a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The eight-car train is 110 m long and has 352 seats plus 49 folding seats. It is based on the Omneo platform formerly owned by Bombardier Transportation (part of Alstom from 2021).

It will spend four months undergoing dynamic overspeed tests on the VUZ Velim test centre in Czechia. The train will then return to Crespin to complete the static tests and interior fittings. Once all these activities are completed, the vehicle will be put into pre-operational service, and then into passenger service on the Marseille-Toulon-Nice route from June 2025.
