UK: In his meeting with Markus Bernsteiner, CEO of the Stadler Group, the Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotheram, talked about the need to pay for the downtime of the trains. The city manager also asked the CEO to do his best to minimise disruption to traffic.
This year, four-car Class 777 IPEMUs entered service on Liverpool’s Merseyrail commuter rail network. The trains, with a battery package for operation in the depot, are being supplied under a contract for 53 vehicles awarded in 2017. They are often cancelled due to software and other malfunctions.
Stadler’s spokesperson told the online news media Rail Business UK that the company has deployed extensive resources to address the issues arising from the new rail technology solution.
