South Africa: The country’s Supreme Court has invalidated the contract between Transnet and Wabtec for 233 diesel locomotives. Similar judgments are expected in relation to other contracts with CRRC and Alstom for the supply of a total of 831 locomotives.

Romania: Greenbrier's European subsidiary has announced the cessation of production at the plant, laying off 699 out of its 777 employees by July.
