USA: Representatives from the Guinness World Records witnessed the record at the test track in Pueblo, US.

According to the Swiss manufacturer, its FLIRT H2 train travelled for more than 46 hours without refuelling at an average speed of 60 km/h.

Unlike other manufacturers, Stadler places fuel cells and a hydrogen tank in a tender. It presented the hydrogen train at the InnoTrans 2022 and has signed contracts to supply such rolling stock to the USA and Italy.

The previous record was set by an Alstom train in Germany in 2022, which travelled 1,175 km without refuelling. CAF reported an autonomous train journey of 804 km this year and CRRC recently announced the completion of hydrogen train tests with a claimed range of more than 1,000 km.
