EAEU: The programme envisages the development of 39 standards for underground rolling stock and its components in 2024–2026.
The standards will include requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, HVAC systems, track impact, fire safety, brake units, air distributors, shock absorbers, bogies, wheels and wheel sets, bearings, traction motors, converters, control systems, train reliability, etc. They will apply to underground rolling stock in EAEU countries – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Russia has been designated as the country responsible for developing standards, and the EAEU Technical Committee 150 is overseeing these activities. The committee chair is Viktor Kozlovsky, CEO of the Moscow Metro.
The standards will ensure the application of Technical Regulation on Safety of Underground Rolling Stock (EAEU TR 052/2021). It was approved late in 2021 and will come into force in January 2025.
