Austria: The federal state of Upper Austria’s government shared the renders of the trams manufactured at Stadler’s plant in Valencia, Spain.

The three-car bi-mode (750 V DС and 15 kV AC) tram-train can accommodate 228 passengers and reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. The interior will offer 94 seats, multifunctional areas and a toilet. There are totally 20 trams ordered with an option for 50 more vehicles. From 2026, the new rolling stock is to replace the GTW EMUs, produced by Stadler from 2001 to 2005.

The Upper Austrian transport association OÖVV is one of the members of the German-Austrian consortium VDV, which ordered 246 Citylink tram-trains from Stadler in 2022. VDV was founded to develop a unified standard for trams, which, thanks to joint orders, reduced the cost to €1 mln and lowered maintenance charges.
