Alstom delivers the first Innovia 300 train to the Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic: The four-car unmanned monorail train with a passenger capacity of 580 people was produced at the plant in Derby, UK, and delivered to the Port of Cuacedo.

Preliminary, the train has undergone stationary and dynamic tests in Kingston, Canada. The vehicle is designed for the future Santiago de los Caballeros monorail system, spanning 13 km with 14 stations.

Last August, consortium SIF, led by Alstom, was selected to implement this project, which is financially supported by the French government. By 2025, the company is to supply 13 four-car Innovia monorail trains, the rights for which were previously held by Bombardier. Alstom will also deliver the Cityflo 650 signalling system ensuring the highest level of automation, GoA4, third rails, high-speed interchange switch systems as well as build a depot. Alstom’s share of the contract is worth approximately €370 mln.
