TMH-IS implements remote control system for shunting locomotives

Russia: According to TMH Smart Systems (TMH-IS), Russia, the solution is being used at one of the country’s largest metallurgical plants.

In December, its subsidiary AVP Technology reported that is systems had been installed on the TGM6 diesel locomotive. The solution is unique, says the developer.

The solution consists of three systems. Part of the obstacle detection system is installed in the driver’s cab, while its unit with cameras and lidars is located outside the locomotive. The remote control system consists of a console that duplicates the main control modules of the TGM6. The third system, the remote video monitoring system, is a mobile video control unit mounted on the end car.

Earlier, it was the TGM6 locomotive of the Cherepovets Steel Mill, a subsidiary of Severstal, on which the first version of the TMH-IS technical vision was piloted in 2020.
