Japan: The seven-car trainset started operation on the 403 km line connecting Tokyo and the city of Shinjō in the northern part of Honshu island. It was first unveiled last February.

China: The first batch of three E500 locomotives has reached the Port of Hualien, which is on the east coast of Taiwan. The rolling stock was produced at the manufacturer’s Fuchu Complex, Japan.
Russia: The TMH plant in Novocherkassk obtained TR EAEU 001/2011 certification to produce the locomotive. The approval for mass production was secured for five years up to 2029.
India: The company has unveiled renderings of the proposed exterior and interior of trains to be built for national operator Indian Railways.
India: The national operator reports the new batch of the second-generation trains starting revenue service on ten intercity routes on 12 March.
USA: Within public hearings, representatives of numerous trade unions urged the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to reject or at least restrict the tests of the new self-propelled rolling stock technology, planned to be conducted in Georgia.
