Italy: The manufacturer is now completing the homologation of the APLA100-e two-axle machine at its Monopoli facility.

From December to January, the machine was tested at the VUZ Velim test centre in Czechia for compliance with the requirements for running behaviour and electromagnetic compatibility. The machine will be certified by the European Union Agency for Railways in the fourth quarter.

With a length over buffers of 10.2 m, the machine is designed for the installation and maintenance of overhead lines in tunnels, under bridges and in enclosed stations. The vehicle is equipped with a crane and a lifting swivel platform with a maximum height of 7 m. A 70 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the mechanisms and moves the machine at a speed of up to 9 km/h. Another device ensuring the tractive power of the machine is a 24 kW back-up diesel generator. The APLA100-e can be towed by train at speeds of up to 100 km/h or transported by truck.
