Portugal: The tram was launched seven months behind schedule due to numerous problems, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Metro do Porto reports it has already received 15 of the 18 four-car trams, with the remainder to be delivered by the end of the year.
After winning the tender, CRRC signed a contract, worth €49.6 mln, in January 2020. This is its first contract signed in the EU for the supply of urban rail transport. The vehicle took eight months to build and was first unveiled in August last year.

The new trams can carry 244 passengers, 64 of them seated, and have a maximum speed of 80 km/h. According to CRRC, the trams have a lightened design, a component condition monitoring system, two driver’s cabs, and 14 double doors, seven on each side.
