Mexico: The nine-car train started operation on the 18.8 km Mexico City Metro Line 1 with 20 stations.

This is the first CRRC metro rolling stock with rubber-tyred wheels. The train can climb slopes of up to 8%, as well as produce less noise during operation. In the near future, the remaining 29 trains will be launched.

Each trainset can accommodate 2,252 passengers and reach 80 km/h. There are three types of wheels on the bogies, large for operation, small for guidance, and traditional steel for safety. The train can negotiate curves of 45 m, and its signalling system incorporates automatic acceleration and deceleration and automatic scheduling.

According to CRRC, 27 trains were 65% made in China, and the final assembly, which involves 35% of localisation, took place at a new plant in Queretaro, Mexico.
