France: The trains are built in eight plants in France by around 2,300 employees. Final assembly takes place at the Crespin and Valenciennes plants.
The contract signed in 2019 with Ile-de-France Mobilités, a regional transport authority, provides for the supply of up to 410 MF19 trains, worth €2.9 bln, with an option of 2024 for 147 trains. The first MF19s will enter service on Line 10 in 2025, with the next trains put in operation on Lines 3bis, 7bis, 8, 12, and 13 between 2026 and 2030.

The MF19 trains will have four or five cars, and those designed for unmanned GoA4 operation will have no driver’s cab. According to the manufacturer, the rolling stock will consume 20% less electricity than the MF77 trains that have been in service since 1978. This will be achieved through the use of electrodynamic braking and LED lighting.
