Saudi Arabia: The national operator Saudi Railway Company (SAR) struck a SAR 200 mln (approx. $53 mln) agreement with the Italian Arsenale Group.
The latter will provide the rolling stock and passenger services, whereas the former will be responsible for traction and maintenance.
The train will consist of 15 cars with 40 compartments and a capacity of 82 passengers. The train titled ‘Dream of the Desert’ will be launched on a 1,300 km line between Riyadh and Al-Qurayyāt late in 2025.

The train will be produced in Italy and will be similar to the Orient Express La Dolce Vita tourist trains that Arsenale Group plans to launch this year in 14 Italian regions as well as from Rome to Paris, Istanbul, and Split.
