Austria: The contract with the local leasing company ELL includes a firm part for 60 locomotives of various traction types for passenger and freight service with deliveries starting in 2025.

The rolling stock will be manufactured at the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich-Allach.

This is the fourth framework agreement between the two companies, and it will allow ELL to increase its Vectron fleet to more than 400 locomotives in the medium term.

Since 2012, Siemens Mobility has delivered more than 2,200 Vectron locomotives to 95 customers. This year, they have been ordered by European leasing companies and operators such as Beacon Rail, Medway Belgium, TX Logistik, Cargounit, BLS Cargo, Akiem, and RheinCargo. The major competitor to Vectron in Europe is the Traxx locomotive by Alstom.
