Kenya: 230 of these flatcars will serve the Mombasa–Nairobi Line functioning from 2017.
This is the standard 1,435 mm gauge railway of 592 km. The rest 200 flatcars will operate on the Kenyan narrow-gauge railway which is more than 2,000 km long. According to the Kenyan Ministry of Roads and Transport, the cars with a payload of 70 t will be used to transport different kinds of freights, including containers, tank-containers, rolled steel, and automobiles.

CRRC has provided Kenya with the rolling stock since 2015. So far, the Chinese manufacturer has supplied the republic with 56 diesel locomotives (43 DF8B freight, five DF11 passenger, and eight DF7G shunting locomotives), and also 1,600 freight cars and 40 passenger cars. The latest batch of 50 flatcars was delivered in February this year. Another 20 passenger cars are expected to be supplied soon.
