USA: The Multi-Max Plus autorack is designed to carry cars and vans on two levels. The new vehicle from Greenbrier is built to the maximum clearance allowed on North American railways, AAR Plate K, 6,147 mm above the top-of-rail.

The internal dimensions of the autorack are sufficient for high-profile vans, such as the Ford Transit and similar. For example, the height of the lower level varies between 2,083 and 2,235 mm, and the maximum height of the upper level is 2,985 mm.

The deck between the levels can be raised by 15 cm. According to the American manufacturer, this increases the range of cargoes that can be transported and ensures full compatibility with the commonly used 5,486 mm high Plate J autoracks. An additional benefit is claimed to be the patented door design, which reduces the incidence of theft.

The Multi-Max Plus prototype has been tested on different types of vehicles, and its production is scheduled to begin in 2024.
