Germany: A prototype rail repair robot has been jointly developed by Robel Rail Automation, a subsidiary of German holding Robel, and Japanese robotics company FANUC.
Russia: The development is being undertaken by two engineering centres, part of Sinara – Transport Machines: the design bureau of the Kalugaputmash plant and STM’s own research and development centre.

USA: BNSF, one of the largest freight rail operators in the United States, plans to have 34 locomotives in service with these systems, the ODIN, by the end of the year and intends to fit a further 24 units thereafter.
Germany: Designed for monitoring track conditions, the vehicle can accommodate up to four people in its two cabins. Upon customer request, it can be upgraded for remote control or full automation.
