China — Plasser & Theurer has delivered a track machine to Hong Kong. The Unimat Compact 08-275/3S-16 tamping machine will serve the MTR, an urban rail network in Hong Kong. Earlier, the operator also ordered a two-car ROMIS mobile maintenance system from the German company Robel for routine track maintenance.
Egypt — The national railway operator ENR and Plasser & Theurer have inked a new contract for track machines. The equipment includes tamping, profiling and ballast cleaning machines as well as a welding machine. Volume and value of the contract are not disclosed, but the Austrian manufacturer is to deliver the track machines within two years.
USA — The Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad (CFE) has received a federal grant to purchase track repair equipment. The operator of the freight line, which connects Chicago with Indiana and Ohio, plans to purchase a 26-car continuous welded rail train and 75 ballast cars. CFE and the Indiana Department of Transportation are expected to pay 35% of the cost, with the remainder covered by a $21.5 mln grant from the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements programme.

Russia — The national operator, RZD, has announced a tender for three MPV primary surfacing machines. The starting price is RUB 1.47 bln including VAT ($15 mln). The equipment is to be delivered to the Moscow Railway between October 2025 and June 2026. According to the technical specifications, the winning bidder, to be announced on 3 December, will provide ballast dispensing and distribution at 8 km/h, track construction at 5 km/h and lining and profile treatment at 3 km/h. The machine from Tulazheldormash, pertaining to PTK Group, meets these specifications.

Russia — PTK Group has won a tender for the supply of four railway track laying machines for RZD. The company offered the RU-700 machines from Tulazheldormash. The units, worth more than 2.4 bln ($24.5 mln), VAT included, will be delivered between June 2025 and February 2027.
