Italy: In early February, SRT has finalised absorbing Colmar Technik in a process that started in August 2023.
Earlier reports had claimed the asset’s purchase price to be €25 mln. Both companies are now part of the Italian Salcef Group. The deal added to SRT’s portfolio that already focused on car outfittings for track works as well as providing rail grinders.
Colmar Technik’s market presence spanned more than 60 years. As of absorption, the company’s backlog amounted to €33.5 mln, with the 2023 revenue as high as €21.8 mln (a 12.6% increase compared to 2022). Colmar Technik owned two manufacturing sites in Arquà Polesine and Costa di Rovigo, Italy, with offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, China, and Colombia.
The manufacturer’s portfolio included cranes, excavators, industrial traction equipment, ballast cleaners and other track machines. At InnoTrans 2024, SRT showcased railcar movers and loaders, rail-road pictured.
