Germany: The new rolling stock has been granted a certificate of compliance with the European TSI standards according to the Fourth Railway Package (FRP).

The German national operator notes that Windhoff has become the first company in the country to have its rail vehicle certified to TSI. Approved by the EU Parliament in 2016, the FRP provides for harmonisation of licensing and certification procedures.

The MPV VentuS Type GAF has a modular design allowing for a variety of configurations in terms of traction drives (with a diesel engine as the primary traction source), cabs and cranes. The vehicle can be used to transport rails, sleepers, turnout elements, and other railway components.

The four-axle MPV VentuS Type GAF rail car was demonstrated at InnoTrans 2024. It has been produced for the infrastructure department of Deutsche Bahn DB Bahnbau Gruppe. A 2022 contract includes an option for a further nine vehicles.
