Netherlands: ProRail and Arriva Nederland have published the results of a new phase of the Stadler automated DMU trails. It shows that targets to improve energy efficiency and achieve a precise stop at the desired location are not achieved.
Romania: Alstom was awarded a contract for the delivery and maintenance of 20 trains by ARF. Initially, the tender was won by CRRC, but its application was rejected by the Bucharest court, although the company has even produced and certified the train.
India: The NCRTC operator unveiled the head car of the first electric train. The level of its localisation in accordance with the Make in India program must exceed 80%.
Czech Republic: The manufacturer intends to start testing a two-car train with hybrid traction from batteries and catenary.
India: Medho Servo Drives announced the completion of a plant in Telangana, which will specialise in the production of electric trains, locomotives, metro cars and monorail.
Spain: At the end of 2021, the volume of new CAF orders in this segment amounted to €3 bln, compared to €1.4 bln in the previous year. A significant part of it was a large-scale order on trains for suburban transportation in Paris.
Portugal: Several global producers, CRRC, Alstom, Siemens, Hitachi, Stadler, CAF, became known as contestants for the state railway operator CP contract for the $927 mln USD supply of 117 electric trains.
Germany: The manufacturer has signed a contract with NEB for the supply and service of 6 such trains for operation in the Berlin region. Mireo Plus H will have hybrid traction of hydrogen fuel cells and batteries.
Canada: 2 double-deck push-pull coaches from the Chinese manufacturer will be delivered to RTM, the Greater Montreal region passenger operator, in the nearest future. The level of vehicles localization is 28%.
