EU: The Association of European Rolling Stock Lessors, AERRL, has published the first part of a study of such diesel alternatives as biofuel, biomethane, ammonia, batteries, and hydrogen in rail transport.
EU: Europe's Rail has updated its estimates of the potential costs of the DAC introduction on freight cars. The estimates and the initiative itself have attracted criticism by ZNPK, an association of minor operators from Poland.
EU: In January 2023, new public procurement rules came into force in the European Union. The first company to be affected by these rules is CRRC.
Egypt: Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir announced receiving 37 new coaches from Hungary at the port of Alexandria. An additional purchase of 50 dining coaches has been announced.
EU: A train with two selected coupling technologies from Dellner and Voith is now running in trial mode across Europe. It is planned to be shown at the InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin in September.
Hungary: The locomotive arrived in Dunakeszi from the Czech Velim, where it has been undergoing certification tests since last year. It will have to obtain permission for operation in the country, which should begin this year.
EU: Since the beginning of the year, the manufacturer has been awarded contracts with various European customers for the delivery of about 300 Vectron locomotives of different modifications.
Hungary: The project was presented jointly by the German manufacturer and Budapest transport company (BKV) early of November. Currently, the computer vision is the part of the Siemens Tram Assistant (STA).
