Since the beginning of the year, Alstom has signed several contracts for the supply of more than 60 LRVs for transportation systems in Latin America and Europe, but terminated a large contract in India.
Poland: PKP Intercity plans to switch to “zero-emission” rolling stock by 2030. Alstom and Siemens are ready to offer solutions, as well as local Pesa is developing such vehicles.
Germany: The company won a €2.5 bln tender to supply 130 four-car Coradia Stream HC trains. Despite the presence of production facilities in the country, the rolling stock will be produced at Alstom's Polish site.
France: The manufacturer is appealing against Bombardier's breach of certain contractual provisions of the deal. In turn, the Canadian company will challenge the reduction in the cost of selling its railway industry division.
EU: In 2021, the REUSE project by UIC to stimulate the railway equipment recycling was finalized. In turn, manufacturers are increasingly indicating the share of materials in the rolling stock that are recyclable.
France: The manufacturer named such a project as part of the signing of an agreement ENGIE. Also, Alstom’s CEO Henri Poupart-Lafarge announced the negotiations of hydrogen trains deliveries to Spain.
Egypt: The country is actively expanding the suppliers pool by entering into contracts with global manufacturers, but at the same time is working to create its own rolling stock production.
Romania: Alstom was awarded a contract for the delivery and maintenance of 20 trains by ARF. Initially, the tender was won by CRRC, but its application was rejected by the Bucharest court, although the company has even produced and certified the train.
India: The NCRTC operator unveiled the head car of the first electric train. The level of its localisation in accordance with the Make in India program must exceed 80%.
