Russia: Presentation of a two-cab three-section tram took place at the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant. In the near future, the first vehicle of this model will be supplied to the city and additional 37 such trams will be delivered by autumn.
UK: In January the passenger railway operator TfW put into operation the diesel FLIRT train on the Rhymney – Penarth line, and a new generation of city trains, IPEMU, entered service in the Liverpool City Region.
Poland: This year the national operator plans to add 10 Stadler’s Flirt trains, two retrofitted ED74 EMUs by Pesa, four CZ LOKO’s EffiShunter 300 locomotives, and renewed passenger coaches to its fleet.
USA: This year the RailPulse joint venture is preparing to bring a telemetry platform to the market, providing real-time visibility of location, health, etc of the railcar.
Kazakhstan: Prime minister Alihan Smaiylov introduced plans for the delivery of locomotives, passenger, and freight cars for the fleet of the national operator and its subsidiaries.
Spain: First testing of Talgo's Vittal-One hydrogen train is scheduled for this summer. Meanwhile trials of its TPH2 hybrid locomotive and CAF’s train Civia 463, which started last year, are under way.
France: In September 2022, the second automatic metro line with trains by Siemens was launched in Rennes. Two months later, new rolling stock for Marseille and Île-de-France was unveiled at Alstom’s plant in Petite-Forêt.
China: The 28.8 MW electric six-section locomotive has starting tractive effort of 2,280 kN and entered into operation in June 2021. Shen24 tripled volume of coal cargo service in Shanxi and Shaanxi, increasing it by 25 mln t annually.
Russia: According to an additional agreement to the contract of 2020, the Russian capital’s metro will receive 500+ metro cars between 2024–2025.
