Germany: The company has announced plans to invest approximately €150 mln to expand its digital service depot.

In 2026, a 12,300 m² service hall with additional offices and storage facilities is to be launched to maintain trains up to 400 m long. The total area will be increased from 70,000 to 157,500 m², with the number of employees up to 250 people.

The digital service depot has been operating in Dortmund since 2018. The facility services Desiro HC electric trains from the RRX fleet. The maintenance processes are AI-based, using the Railigent X digital platform developed by Siemens Mobility. The platform processes train status data transmitted by sensors, predicts faults and makes preventive recommendations. In the future, AI, computer vision and digital twins will enable full automation of the visual control of EMUs at the digital service depot.
