Belarus: Last year, over BYN 0.5 mln (€146,500) was invested into the plant in Minsk, as the news agency BelTA cites Aleksandr Gutyrchik, the company’s Chief Engineer.
There have been purchased a press machine for cold moulding of axle bearings, a plasma cutting machine, and a chamfering machine. There have also been installed a hoist, a CNC router for manufacturing of industrial rubber parts for tram bogies, and a band sawing machine. In the meantime, guillotine shears for cutting thick sheet metal and a robotic system for welding of frames and tram bogie bolsters are expected to be delivered to the plant.
In addition, the BKM Holding facilities will soon see the construction of a new welding workshop. It has been previously reported that the Belarusian manufacturer is going to augment its production capacity. As for the trams, a monthly output is planned to increase from 10 single-car to 15 single- and three-car LRVs.
