Russia: The delivery to the client was announced by Maxim Tarabrin, Vice President of Business Development at the company, on his LinkedIn page, accompanying the post with a video of the rolling stock.

“Five sleeper compartments in the first coach, a kitchen and a large lounge in the second, and two spacious luxury suites for the most important guests in the third”, he noted, describing the interior of the presented coaches. The client’s identity is not disclosed.

TVEMA launched a dedicated programme for the production of bespoke coaches several years ago, building on its experience in manufacturing laboratory cars and other types of rolling stock. In 2023, the Russian company certified its 61-943 high-comfort passenger coaches. The design is based on the running gear and car body of coaches produced in series by the TMH plant in Tver, with TVEMA completing the final bespoke fit-out, including the interior. In the same segment, Zircon Service also manufactures custom-built coaches to individual specifications.

Despite its relatively small scale, the bespoke VIP coach segment holds significant export potential. These coaches could be in demand by businesses around the world, both on mainline routes and industrial lines, according to Alexander Polikarpov, Managing Partner at ROLLINGSTOCK. “Such solutions provide comfortable working and meeting spaces —essentially a mobile hotel or office that enables productive business activities anywhere in the world, aligning well with current mobility trends”, he said.
