Türkiye: The news has been announced by Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. The 15,000 m2 production and testing facility is being built within the Sakarya plant.
As stated by Mr Uraloglu, the new factory would allow for production and full on-site testing for 12 eight-car high-speed EMUs annually. With around 250 employees, the facility will also be engaged in the assembly of other types of rolling stock. So far, these are all the details provided by the Minister.

The prototype high-speed train capable of reaching a speed of 225 km/h is currently being constructed at the Sakarya plant. Its nose was exhibited this summer. The HSR electric train is based on Türasaş’s initially developed platform for operation at a speed of 160 km/h. To achieve higher speeds, the company has introduced some design modifications and an upgraded motor.

According to Mr Uraloglu’s previous statements, it is planned to manufacturer a total of 14 such trainsets in 2026–2028. The rolling stock will be 65% localised and TSI compliant.
