Belarus: Russian rolling stock manufacturer TMH has released a video to coincide with the Transport and Logistics 2026 international exhibition, held in Minsk on 26-29 May.
The footage shows the exterior and interior of the future rolling stock, including the passenger saloon and multifunction areas for prams and bicycles. The train is finished in the livery of national operator Belarusian Railways. The design concept was developed by TMH together with the National Centre for Industrial Design and Innovation Lab 20/50.
The EP5N AC EMU was first shown at the INNPROM. Central Asia exhibition held in Tashkent in April. It is set to become a development of TMH’s new multiple-unit platform, the first member of which will be the hydrogen train for Sakhalin currently under assembly at the TMH plant in Demikhovo. The EP5N will have a design speed of 160km/h, with formations varying from 4 to 10 cars.

Earlier this year Belarusian Railways tendered for 30 low-floor AC trains, but the tender was declared void. The sole bid, from the TMH plant in Demikhovo, came in 35% above the procurement’s starting price. But it is this plant that is earmarked to set up series production of the new-platform trains.
