Germany: Both producers from Spain and Poland signed a memorandum of understanding at InnoTrans 2024.
This is a preliminary agreement that envisages further agreements in a number of areas related to the production of high-speed trains. The parties say that they have been negotiating for more than two years.
Poland plans to start procuring high-speed trains in 2025. They will be supplied as part of the Solidarity national transport hub (or Central Communication Port, CPK) project, which encompasses the construction of 2,000 km of high-speed lines, and the potential order volume is 100 to 200 trains operating at 250 km/h.

Pesa announced the development of such a train in 2022 and have already presented its concept. Even then, it was noted that tight deadlines would require the vehicle to be built in a consortium with a global player with the necessary competencies. In addition, the Polish authorities announced their interest in buying Talgo this summer.
