Stadler unveils first FLIRT train for Lithuania

Lithuania: The Swiss manufacturer and national passenger operator LTG Link showcased a five-car set at Vilnius station. It is expected to be put into service in the second half of 2026 on the Vilnius–Klaipėda route after passing all necessary tests.

The train is designed for operation on 25 kV AC lines at speeds of up to 160 km/h. Its first and second classes offer a total of 200 seats. There are a bistro area, one toilet, a luggage compartment, and zones for up to 30 bicycles.

The €226.5 mln contract for the supply of nine five-car electric trains and six three-car battery-electric trains of the FLIRT platform was signed in 2023. The deal also includes technical maintenance until 2037 and an option for a further 13 electric trains and 28 hybrid trains in two configurations with ranges of 100 km and 70 km. Production of the rolling stock is organised at the Stadler plant in Siedlce, Poland.
