Austria: Stadler has presented the first six-car double-deck KISS train for OBB, manufactured at its plant in St. Margrethen, Switzerland. The train was unveiled in Vienna on 25 June.

The train is said to be designed for a maximum operating speed of 200 km/h. The interior offers 486 seats across first and second class, along with eight toilets. Four intermediate cars include family spaces, snack zones with vending machines, two spaces for wheelchair users, and eight bicycle spaces.

The framework contract, valued at approximately €3 bln, was signed in February 2022 for the supply of up to 186 double-deck trains. In summer 2023, as part of a second option, an order was placed for 14 Railjet trains and 21 Cityjet regional trains. All 14 Railjet trains are scheduled to enter service on the Vienna–Salzburg route at the end of 2026.
