Azerbaijan: Last week, Rovshan Rustamov, the Chairman of the national operator ADY, announced the plan to complete the construction of the centre and put it into operation. The contract with Stadler on repair, maintenance, and consultation services for ADY was signed in 2023.
Currently, Stadler executes in Azerbaijan the 2019 contract on supply of four DMUs and six EMUs, with the first two vehicles entered revenue service this summer. Previously, Stadler received orders from ADY for passenger coaches, equipped with an gauge-changing technology, and the KISS double-deckers. The service centre under construction in Baku is supposed to carry out maintenance of all types of vehicles, manufactured by Stadler, and to ensure their technical readiness factor of over 95%.
ADY says at the same time, that the centre will be efficient enough to repair Stadler’s rolling stock from neighbouring countries. Thus, Stadler delivered previously small batches of trains to Georgia, Russia and Belarus. In addition, the manufacturer is executing a large order for passenger coaches in Kazakhstan, with a 20-year maintenance.
