Czechia: The concept of the interior for a double-decker coach with sleeping berths has been dubbed Sleep in Motion. Its development was led by Wilhelm Berbig, an Austrian industrial designer.
The space is arranged in individual passenger cabins, and beds, according to James Dyson Award portal, are two m long. “Featuring optimised bed geometry and a new corridor layout with private luggage storage, the mockup will be on display at InnoTrans”, says the company’s account on social media.

The manufacturer is now implementing a contract with the Finnish operator VR Group for the delivery of nine double-deck coaches and eight autoracks. The contract includes an option for up to 30 more of each type. Their commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2025. Earlier Škoda Group had announced a different interior design for VR’s passenger coaches.
