Germany: Visitors to InnoTrans 2024 witnessed a three-car trainset in the livery of Smart Train Lease, the car-builder’s leasing subsidiary.
Siemens Mobility says it will take no more than 18 months from contract signing to delivery and that the train will be offered at an attractive price, with low maintenance costs and in standard configuration. Smart Train Lease, established this year, will offer the Mireo Smart for short- and medium-term leasing.
There are 214 passenger seats and 21 places for bicycles on the train, which is said to have a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The Mireo Smart is equipped with passenger information and security monitoring systems, and has displays in the entry areas. Three traction configurations will be available: catenary, catenary and batteries, and hydrogen fuel cells.
