Germany: The 2 two-car battery-electric trains have been transporting workers of the components and electric car plant in Berlin-Brandenburg since 7 August. The vehicles run in multiple as a single BEMU.
The five km route, acquired by Tesla last autumn, links the plant and the terminus of Berlin S-Bahn. Previously, it was operated by two Talent DMUs from Bombardier Transportation.

The Mireo Plus B is said to have an operational range of 120 km, with each two-car train capable of accommodating up to 500 passengers, 120 of whom can be seated. NEB was one of the first operators to order these vehicles from Smart Train Lease, a new venture launched by Siemens in February.
