The four-car EMU of 103 m is designed to accommodate 250 passengers and has a design speed of 200 km/h. The traction motors provide a total output of 2,700 kW, with an acceleration of 0.8 m/s2. The train collects telemetry data with almost 1,000 sensors and is equipped with an integrated European train control system ETCS-2. First- and second-class cars feature with spaces for bicycles, prams and wheelchairs.
CRRC has been contracted to supply these trains for the Belgrade–Budapest line, which is scheduled for launch in 2025. The inaugural train will commence operations on the section from Belgrade to Subotica by December. In May, Serbia and the Chinese manufacturer signed a memorandum of understanding for the delivery of nine trains for the country’s capital rail network.
