Russia: As noted by the company’s General Director Oleg Belozerov in his interview with Russia 24 channel.
According to him, 550 coaches are used for intercity services and 313 locomotive-hauled coaches and EMU cars for commuter lines, with over 700 coaches overhauled. The actual purchases in 2024 are in line with the targets set before, as well as the number of coaches and MU cars ordered in 2023. Mr. Belozerov also announced that a new passenger coach of loading gauge T (61-4533) is being certified now.
The interview did not disclose any information on the orders planned for 2025. It was only announced that the company had agreed to buy EMU cars. The plans include 239 cars, without specifying the models. According to the rolling stock producer TMH, its plant in Demikhovo will deliver 118 cars for trains (EP2D, EP2DM, and EP3D). Another producer, Ural Locomotives, an affiliate of Sinara – Transport Machines, recently reported that it was expecting a contract for 100 Finist EMUs.
The order by RZD and its subsidiary Federal Passenger Service Company for new locomotive-hauled coaches has not yet been officially announced.
