Austria: This is the first EMU from the final batch of five four-car trainsets delivered by Siemens Mobility to the Austrian national operator according to the contract of 2021 for a total of 46 vehicles.

Currently, 20 trains under the contract are in service in Tyrol, while 21 vehicles operate in Vorarlberg.

The ÖBB Cityjet service provides regional and urban passenger transportation. The Desiro ML trains of various modifications have been supplied to the Austrian operator since 2015, with more than 240 such vehicles received by ÖBB so far. The low-floor train for Salzburg with a capacity of 290 passengers is 100 m long and can operate at a speed of up to 160 km/h.

In general, ÖBB is actively working on renewing its fleet. Thus, double-deck EMUs and hybrid trains from Stadler have been ordered for regional transportation, while the long-distance Railjet and Nightjet services are supplied with locomotive-hauled trainsets from Siemens Mobility.
