Germany: Unveiled at the Berlin exhibition is a full-scale model of the vehicle. The three-car low-floor Abe 6/12 EMU is scheduled for launch in 2025 on the 1,000 mm gauge Vigezzina–Centovalli line connecting Switzerland and Italy.
The train is reportedly equipped with a traction system capable of maintaining a top speed of 60 km/h on 60‰ slopes. Its head cars have two sections for wheelchairs as well as folding ramps, with additional areas for bicycles, pushchairs and luggage located near the doors.

Stadler is to supply 12 trainsets under this project. The Swiss FART is to receive four 48.9 m-long three-car ABe 6/12s with 95 seats as well as four 63.4 m-long four-car ABe 8/16 with 128 seats. The four remaining ABe 8/16s are to be delivered to the Italian SSIF.
