China: Jointly developed by CRRC and the province of Henan’s operator CR Zhengzhou (part of the national China Railway), the rolling stock has been recently presented at the manufacturer’s plant in Qingdao.
The train will reportedly enter service in mid-April on the route connecting the cities of Luoyang, Anyang and Sanmenxia.
The trainset with a 120 km/h design speed consists of 14 couchette coaches with two-, three-, and four-berth compartments, a dining coach, a personnel coach, and a multifunctional coach. The latter includes a tea lounge for eight passengers, a room for playing chess, and an entertainment area for other activities.
Each compartment features advanced soundproofing and has a separate bathroom with dry and wet zones, a toilet, a mini-bar and storage spaces. Besides, there is a dedicated area with special medical equipment to provide emergency care onboard the train.
