Russia: The train coach interior with chairs was showcased at the exhibition booth within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The Aurora train revival project is implemented by the Federal Passenger Company (part of RZD) and TMH.

The train is reported to accommodate 1,240 passengers in 15 double-deck coaches: first-class couchette coaches, standard sitting coaches and business-class coaches with improved seating arrangement, a staff carriage with seats for passengers with reduced mobility, and a buffet carriage.

Two prototype coaches equipped with a new bogie having an axle load of 20 tf are now being assembled at TMH’s plant in Tver. The first train is to enter service on the Moscow–St. Petersburg line in December. The Auroras are planned to run twice a day covering the distance between two cities in five and a half hours. Notably, the first Aurora train was operating on the route at speeds of up to 180 km/h from 1963 to 2010.
