Brazil, Chile: The vehicle has been shown to a delegation of the Chilean State Railways EFE during their technical visit to a factory in Caxias do Sul.

In January 2023, EFE ordered three two-car bi-directional Prosper VLTs, worth $15 mln, to be delivered at the end of this year. It was the Brazilian producer’s first export order for the rail rolling stock.

The diesel multiple units by Marcopolo Rail are designed for narrow-gauge operation on the 88 km Talca-Constitución route. Each Prosper VLT is expected to carry 223 passengers, including 80 in swivel seats.

Marcopolo Rail entered the rolling stock market with the Prosper VLT at the end of 2020. The model is available in two-, three- or four-car trains with different traction.
