Italy — This year’s plans of Trenitalia, the national operator, address purchase of 100 regional trains worth €850 mln. This fleet renewal is part of the operator’s long-term investment programme. Between 2019 and 2024, the country received 540 trains, including Rock and Blues from Hitachi Rail and Pop from Alstom.
Germany — DB Regio, the passenger operator, has issued a request for proposals for 70 EMUs. The purchase is divided in two lots. They provide for 36 and 34 trains with a capacity of 424 and 200 passengers respectively.
Thailand — SRT, the state-owned railroad operator has approved the purchase of 182 passenger coaches. A sum of BHT 10.5 bln (over $300 mln) has been earmarked for sleeping and seating coaches of various classes. If the Thai government accepts the plan, the tender will be completed in 2026 and deliveries will start in 2028. In 2016, passenger coaches for SRT were supplied by CRRC. Now, the country is strengthening its competence in manufacturing them as well.

Luxembourg — CFL, the national operator, has issued a tender for 24 EMUs. The years 2030–2032 are going to witness the replacement of double-deck push-pull trains, built by Bombardier Transportation in 2004–2005, with the new rolling stock. The fleet of the operator is now being added with partially double-deck Alstom Coradia Stream HC EMUs.

Croatia — HŽPP, the national operator, has announced a bidding for 13 hybrid trains, worth €107.3 mln, VAT excluded. The customer expects to receive five catenary-diesel trains, four catenary-battery trains and four battery trains. The rolling stock needs to be delivered two years after the contract is signed. In the past, between 2022 and 2024, HŽPP ordered trains from the local manufacturer Končar, which exhibited its 6012 Series battery-powered train at InnoTrans 2024.
